You can also make bone broth at home! It’s not as easy as buying it for you or your pet, but can pretty beneficial to make if you have bones you are going to simply discard.

Simple Bone Broth Recipe:


  • 1 whole organic raw chicken
  • 4 quarts filtered water
  • 3 celery stalks, halved
  • 3 carrots, halved
  • 3 onions, quartered
  • Hand-full of parsley
  • Directions:
  • Place chicken in a large stock pot and add water. Add more water if the chicken is not covered fully.
  • Add the vegetables and bring to a boil. Skim the scum off the top and discard.
  • Reduce to a low simmer, cover, and cook for 24 hours. If you don’t want to leave the stove on all night, you can transfer to a slow cooker and cook on low.
  • During the last 10 minutes of cooking, throw in the parsley.

Let the broth cool, and add sea salt to taste.

Store in the fridge for up to 7 days or freeze for up to 6 months.
